Jim is Vice President of Commercial Lending
and Business Development for the State Bank of Cross Plains.
Jim started his banking career in 1986 at
First Wisconsin Bank on the Square in Madison. Jim worked
there for 4 years on a part-time basis while attending
college. Duties mainly were in the personal banking
department. In 1991, Jim was hired as a management associate
by M&I Milwaukee. After a year of learning many different
departments of the corporation, he was hired as a lender by
M&I Northern Bank in Brookfield. At M&I Northern, Jim
learned consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending. In 1993,
Jim was promoted to Assistant Vice President and was
responsible for a commercial loan portfolio. In 1995, Jim
moved to State Bank of Cross Plains and became a Vice
President of commercial lending and in charge of business
development. He now helps manage the bank’s office in
Middleton.
Jim comes from a banking family. His
grandfather worked for the state Bank of Cross Plains for 62
years. His father has been with the Bank of Sun Prairie for 43
years. Plus, he has two brothers who work for M&I Bank.
Jim is very active in the social arena. He is the treasurer
for the Middleton Optimist and the Duck’s Unlimited-Pheasant
Branch Chapter. He is an active member in the Middleton
Chamber of Commerce, Madison Area Builder’s Association, and
Cross Plains Lion’s Club.
