2003-2004 RMA Community Bank Council meets
in New Orleans
The Community Bank Council is just one of
the many benefits of membership in RMA. The council includes
12 of your colleagues dedicated to making RMA more relevant
and valuable to community bankers across the country ...
whether through the coordinated deliver of state-of-the-art
products, services, and educational programs from RMA
headquarters, or by representing the interests of community
banks with regulators at both the regional and national
levels. We are here to serve you.
More recently, the council met in New
Orleans to confirm last years project which resulted in the
publication of "Beating the Odds Revisited." This
publication will be coming out soon with the primary
objectives to include the following:
• Provide an inventory
of current community bank risk management practices
• Identify those
fundamental risk management practices that significantly
influence the safety and soundness of the community bank
loan portfolio
• Identify and promote
the most important and valuable best practices of risk
management of community banks
• Provide a benchmark
document to aid community banks in identifying, assessing,
monitoring, managing, and controlling the various types of
risk
• Identify and provide
risk management practices by asset size
When available, I encourage you to
purchase the survey which is being finalized by the Verrone
Consulting Group, Inc.
Additionally, if there are any other topics you would
like addressed to your regional regulators please contact
